Thank you for using Clubhouse!

Where can I read the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy?

Can you tell me more about recordings on Clubhouse?
- As explained in our Privacy Policy, Clubhouse may generate transcriptions of Conversations and temporarily retain these transcriptions so that we can analyze the nature of the content and make suggestions of similar Conversations that we think you may enjoy. We use automated systems to transcribe and analyze conversations and make suggestions. You can learn more about this in our Personalization FAQ.
- We may record all “Live Rooms” on Clubhouse so that we can investigate any complaints regarding violations of our Community Guidelines or our Terms of Service, or otherwise illegal or illicit activity. This is part of our commitment to users under our Terms of Service to work to provide a safe space for their Conversations and combat illegal and harmful conduct and content. If we receive a complaint while the Room is live, we will review the recording to determine whether a violation has occurred. We will retain the recording as long as reasonably necessary to identify and investigate the potential violations.
- In Live Rooms that are open to all users, we may also generate transcripts of the Conversation to analyze the contents of the Conversation and use that information to personalize our Products (“Transcripts”).
- In Houses, the room creator can enable recordings using the Replays feature. If a room creator enables the Replay feature, the room will be recorded and the recording will be stored by Clubhouse and may be made available to other users on Clubhouse at the room creator’s instruction. Replays may also be available outside of Clubhouse.
- Chats and Voice Messages (VMs) are recorded and saved indefinitely to allow you and other users to play back conversations. If we receive a complaint about illegal activity or a violation of our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service in a Chat or VM, our team may review the recording in order to investigate.
What happens if I sync my contacts on Clubhouse?
If you give Clubhouse permission to sync your contacts, we will only store a cryptographic hash value derived from the phone numbers in your contact list. We do not store the phone numbers themselves, only the hash value derived from them. We don't store any other information associated with your contacts, such as names, email addresses, or other information you may store in connection with your contacts. We update contacts periodically to make sure they are up to date. If you change your mind, you can always turn off the “sync contacts” setting in your account settings page.
