What are Local Houses?
Local Houses are an opportunity to engage with communities in specific areas who may have similar interests or who can teach you something new!
What is the location setting used for?
The location setting helps guide you to communities that are active in your area. Find out more about the location setting here!
How do I create a Local House?
You can designate a location for your House while you’re setting it up!
To create a Local House:
- Create a House
- Navigate to your House settings and tap Location
- Add your location either by city or zip code
- Confirm your location by tapping Continue
- Invite friends to your Local House or skip this step and invite people later on!
Can I add a location to an existing House?
Definitely, a location can be added to existing Houses by navigating to the House settings, tapping location and adding your location!
How do I remove the location from my House?
You can remove the location from your House from the location setting.
To remove the House location:
- Tap the … menu at the top right of your House page
- Tap location
- Tap remove location at the bottom of the screen
Can I only join Houses that are local to me?
You can join a House in any location no matter where you’re located! For example, you might join Houses with locations in places you visit often or plan to visit in the future.
How often can I change my House location?
You can change your location whenever you need to! To make sure your followers feel like they’re part of a consistent community, we prefer Local Houses not to change their location more than once.
Will the location I choose for my House be visible to other Clubhouse members?
Yes. If you add a location to your House, the location will be visible when users search for Houses, and on the House description page. The location you add is only a locale, not a specific street address.
Can I join multiple local houses?
Absolutely! We encourage users to join as many Houses as they like!
How can I tell if there are Houses in a location I’m interested in?
You’ll be able to see the location in the House description card in the search results.
How can I tell if a House has a location?
Local Houses will have a

Yes! You can join Houses with locations even if you don’t have a location specified in your settings.
Does my location update automatically?
No, but you can update your location whenever you like!
